According to a survey conducted, an average person sit in front of the television for at least twenty eight hours each week! Going by this assumption, it means that one spends more than a thousand minutes sitting in front of our television screens each week, and in a year's time we would have already sat through more than twenty thousand commercials! That is a lot of time which we spend being a ‘couch potato', no wonder people worry about whether it is good or bad to watch too much television.

However the problem is not with watching television, one can watch television, it is not that injurious to health. While it may be a bit too harsh to suggest that television viewing should be done away with altogether, but it is also true that watching too much television can be harmful for our health because we would become lazy and refrain from physical activity.
So what is the solution for this problem? Well, the solution is that one should watch television but in a limit. One must also refrain from purchasing unhealthy snacks just as fats-laden popcorn or soda. It is only natural that if we have these things lying around in the house, we would immediately reach for them when we are watching television and we would consume them while viewing the television like a zombie! Also, one can go for a jog or do some exercises in the morning. You can try making a deal with yourself, like going for a jog in the morning or doing some exercise so that you can watch television at night!
